This 1/4 oz GSM Buffalo Silver Round is crafted by the Golden State Mint (GSM) from 99.9% pure silver is a very smart way to add silver bullion to your investment portfolio. Because it is modeled after the very popular Buffalo or Indian Head Nickel designed by renowned sculpture James Earle Fraser, its design is easily recognized by dealers and collectors the world over. The beloved original coin was struck by the United States Mint between 1913 and 1938. Therefore, because of its collectible design and clear value, these rounds could easily be monetized in the rare event of an economic collapse of the government or the monetary system when precious metals such as silver could become the only form of monetary exchange. As part of a series of the rounds released, investors and collectors can customize their purchase of the Buffalo Silver Round to include the 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, and 1/10 ounce for a complete set of four, collectible silver rounds. Another benefit of purchasing the Buffalo Silver round is that, because these rounds are sold in small dollar increments, investors can easily collect as few or as many as they choose.

At a time in history when the American frontier was fading, Frazer captured the majesty of the West in a sculpture that has stood the test of time in a round that is highly prized by coin collectors and investors, alike. This ounce Buffalo Silver Round reflects the same majesty as Frazer’s original design. The obverse or front of the round is inscribed with the word Liberty emblazoned across top of the iconic Indian head. Three American Indian chiefs are said to have inspired Frazer’s design: Two Moons of the Cheyenne, Big Tree of the Kiowa, and Iron Tail of the Lakota Sioux. The American buffalo inspired by the famous profile of Black Diamond, an American Bison then living at the Bronx Zoo is proudly displayed on the reverse side of the Buffalo Silver Round. The reverse is also clearly marked with Troy Ounce across the top and 99.9% Fine Silver across the bottom. This makes the Silver Round just as inspiring as Frazer had originally depicted this proud Indian chief and the magnificent American Bison and makes the Silver Round a highly prized collectible.
