On the obverse side, each U.S. Assay Office Vintage Art Silver Round proudly displays a captivating design featuring an eagle gracefully swooping in with the American flag proudly waving in the backdrop. A wreath graces both sides of this centerpiece while identifying marks are thoughtfully positioned at the round’s top and bottom edges. These marks include ONE TROY OUNCE, 31.1 GRAMS, .999 FINE SILVER, and SILVER TRADE UNIT.
Reverse

History
The Hunt Brothers attempted to dominate the silver market by stockpiling silver in anticipation of market fluctuations. Their holdings once accounted for around a third of all non-governmental silver. By January 1, 1979, the silver price surged from a little over $6 to an astounding $49.45 per ounce in just a year, resulting in the government’s decision to flood the market with 165 million ounces of silver. This strategic move left the Hunt Brothers with substantial losses exceeding a billion dollars.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
