Silver holds a special place among precious metals, attracting both investors and collectors alike. Offering the same value as gold but at a more affordable price, silver bars are sought after for their dual appeal as investments and beautiful additions to personal collections. Now, you can easily purchase the 100 oz Johnson Matthey Pressed Silver Bar online from BGASC.

Highlights:

  • Comes in a protective plastic sleeve!
  • Pressed silver bar!
  • Contains 100 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Obverse features JM logo and identifying features.
  • Reverse includes the JM logo in a repeating pattern.

The 100 oz Johnson Matthey Pressed Silver Bar undergoes a unique production process, distinguishing it from poured bars. These bars start as pre-molded silver blanks, which are then fed into a press using intense pressure to stamp an intricate design onto the bar’s face. Generally, pressed silver bars boast more detailed designs and a glossy finish.

Obverse

On the obverse side, you’ll find the Johnson Matthey name and the company logo at the top, along with rectangular fields specifying the weight, purity, and metal content of the bar. Additionally, the individual serial number of the product is included.

Reverse

The reverse side features a simple repeating pattern set on a 45-degree angle, showcasing the Johnson Matthey corporate logo with the initials “JM” and crossed hammers.

History

Founded in 1817 by Percival Norton Johnson, Johnson Matthey was a trusted name in the precious metal industry. Originally a gold assayer’s firm, it later became the Official Assayer and Refiner to the Bank of England after George Matthey joined in 1851. While Johnson Matthey has exited the precious metals industry today, these 100 oz Johnson Matthey Pressed Silver Bars offer a unique opportunity, as the company’s new products are no longer available.
