Obverse
The obverse of the 1873-S $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle Coin features Lady Liberty, designed by James B. Longacre, depicted in left-profile relief surrounded by 13 stars and wearing a coronet crown. Inscriptions read LIBERTY and 1873.
Reverse
On the reverse, the heraldic eagle is displayed, in front-facing relief, clutching arrows, and an olive branch. Surrounding this image are identifying marks of the coin. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and TWENTY D.
History
Regular issues of the Liberty Gold Double Eagle Coins were struck from 1850 to 1907, with production across various US Mint branches, including Philadelphia, San Francisco, New Orleans, Carson City, and Denver. The presence of the S mint mark indicates production at the San Francisco Mint.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed.
