Each 1877-S Pre-33 $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle Coin offered here is graded AU58 and comes in a protective plastic slab. These About Uncirculated coins are just one step below the Uncirculated range, showing near-full mint luster with minimal signs of wear on the highest points of the design.
Obverse
The obverse of the 1877-S Pre-33 Liberty Double Eagle Coin showcases James B. Longacres depiction of Lady Liberty. This left-profile image features Liberty wearing a coronet crown with 13 stars around her head.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 1877-S $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle, youll find the third design iteration by Longacre. It features the Great Seal of the United States, along with the denomination (TWENTY DOLLARS) and the national motto.
History
Between 1850 and 1907, the $20 Liberty Double Eagles obverse design remained unchanged, while its reverse saw two modifications. These changes resulted in three distinct types: Type I (1850-1866), Type II (1866-1876), and Type III (1877-1907). The addition of the national motto in 1866 was largely seen as an attempt to promote national unity thru American currency following the Civil War.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
