Obverse
The obverse of the 1877-S Pre-33 Liberty Gold Double Eagle Coin depicts Lady Liberty in a left-profile relief, designed by James B. Longacre. She is surrounded by 13 stars and wears a coronet crown. Inscriptions read 1877 and LIBERTY.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 1877-S Pre-33 $20 Liberty Double Eagle Coin features a heraldic eagle, part of the Great Seal variation, also designed by Longacre. The eagle, with a shield on its chest, is framed by the coins identifying marks. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, TWENTY DOLLARS, and IN GOD WE TRUST.
History
The S mint mark signifies that these coins were minted in San Francisco. Over the years, this coin series was also struck at mints in Carson City, Denver, New Orleans, and Philadelphia, with only the Philadelphia coins lacking a mint mark.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
