{{/presale}}The Morgan Silver Dollar, minted at the Carson City Mint, holds a unique place in American coin history. In the West, silver dollars were particularly cherished, and the Carson City Mint was pivotal in producing them. This mint was the last purpose-built mint in the U.S. and was ideally located near rich silver mines, allowing for quick conversion of raw silver into currency. Today, you can find 1878-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coins in certified condition at BGASC.
Highlights:
All 1878-CC Morgan Silver Dollar Coins offered here are in Mint State 63 condition. These coins show slightly impaired mint luster and have a generally attractive appearance. You may see numerous small contact marks and a few scattered heavy marks, with small hairlines visible without magnification.
Obverse
On the obverse of the 1878-CC Morgan Dollar Coins is George T. Morgan’s depiction of Lady Liberty. This left-profile bust, typical of 19th-century American coins, shows Liberty wearing a laurel wreath and a coronet crown.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1878-CC Morgan Silver Dollar features another design by Morgan. This heraldic eagle is shown in front-facing relief, with wings spread wide while clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.
History
Production of Morgan Dollars at Carson City began in 1878 and continued until the mint’s closure in 1893. During this period, the mint faced several challenges, including equipment issues and inconsistent silver supplies, which affected production levels. Despite these obstacles, the Carson City Mint produced millions of Morgan Dollars over its operational years.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
