In 1879, all four branch mints struck these coins, including the San Francisco Mint. Right now, 1879-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available in certified condition at BGASC.

Each of these 1879-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coins has been graded Mint State 65 by the Professional Coin Grading Service. Coins with this grade exhibit strong luster with light, scattered contact marks and hairlines, but no major distractions. These coins are visually appealing and sought after by collectors.
Obverse
The obverse of the 1879-S Morgan Dollar Coin features a classic design by George T. Morgan, showcasing Lady Liberty in left-profile relief. She is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, with a laurel wreath and a coronet crown. Thirteen stars are arranged along the lower half of the coins field.
Reverse
On the reverse side of 1879-S Morgan Silver Dollars, youll find the heraldic eagle design, also created by Morgan. The eagle is shown with its wings spread wide, holding the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace. Unlike some other designs, this eagle is not shielded by the US national emblem.
History
In the first 15 years of Morgan Silver Dollar production, four mintsPhiladelphia, San Francisco, New Orleans, and Carson Citywere responsible for striking these coins. Carson City, in particular, only minted the coins during select years from 1878 to 1893, making it rare to find Morgan Dollars from all four mints in any given year. The year 1879 is one of those rare instances.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
