Initially introduced in 1878, this series marked the resurgence of silver dollar production in the US after a hiatus in 1873 that concluded the Seated Liberty Dollar. Highlights:
Each 1880-S Morgan Silver Dollar featured here is certified Mint State 63 by PCGS. Coins in this condition exhibit a subtle impairment of mint luster, with numerous small contact marks and even a few scattered marks that may be slightly heavier. Small hairlines are also possible and will be visible without magnification, if present.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 1880-S Morgan Dollar, you’ll discover the left-profile bust of Liberty, designed by George T. Morgan in 1878. This depiction showcases Liberty in left-profile relief, adorned with a Phrygian cap, laurel wreath, and coronet crown.
Reverse
The reverse visuals on the 1880 Morgan Silver Dollar feature the heraldic eagle, another creation by Morgan. This image presents the bald eagle in front-facing relief, clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.
History
With a total of more than 27.39 million Morgan Dollars struck in 1880, the United States Mint saw variation in the increases and decreases in production across its mint locations. The Philadelphia Mint, Carson City Mint, and San Francisco Mint all issued fewer coins, while the New Orleans Mint nearly doubled its production of the coins year-over-year from 1879 to 1880.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
