{{/presale}}The Morgan Silver Dollar remains one of the most famous silver dollars ever issued by the United States Mint. It was first introduced in 1878 and minted until 1904, with a brief revival in 1921. During its time in production, the coin was struck at several US Mint branches, including Philadelphia, San Francisco, New Orleans, Carson City, and later Denver. Today, certified 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available at BGASC.

Each 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar Coin available here has been graded MS64+ by NGC. These coins are noted for their strong mint luster and slight contact marks, with a few possibly visible in prime focal areas. An MS64+ grade means the coin is of higher quality than a typical MS64 but not quite to the level of an MS65.
Obverse
The obverse of the 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar shows a detailed image of Lady Liberty. Designed by George T. Morgan, this portrait depicts Liberty in left-profile with a Phrygian cap, laurel wreath, and coronet. She is surrounded by 13 stars representing the original American colonies.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar, youll find an image of the heraldic eagle. This design by Morgan shows a bald eagle with its wings extended, holding arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, representing strength in both conflict and peace.
History
For the 1881 release of Morgan Silver Dollars, the US Mint operated out of four branch mints. The San Francisco Mint had the highest production at 12.76 million coins, while Carson City produced the fewest, striking just 296,000 coins. The Philadelphia and New Orleans Mints contributed to the years total with 9.163 million and 5.708 million coins, respectively.

For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
