History

Following the Bland-Allison Act, the Morgan Silver Dollar entered production in March of 1878. For nearly three decades, the coin would be minted at the Carson City, Denver, San Francisco, New Orleans, and Philadelphia branches of the U.S. Mint. Production ceased in 1904 before continuing in 1921. A special centennial Morgan was also issued by the mint in 2021.
