Every 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollar Coin will arrive in an NGC protective plastic slab. Graded as Mint State 65, these coins exhibit high-quality mint luster with minimal contact marks or a couple of larger marks. Patches of hairlines are also possible.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 1885-O Morgan Dollar Coin features the left-profile Lady Liberty depiction by George T. Morgan, donning a Phrygian cap. 13 stars and inscriptions surround the image. Inscriptions read E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1885, and LIBERTY.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 1885-O Morgan Silver Coin showcases the front-facing bald eagle design of George T. Morgan, clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Identifying marks surround the eagle. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, O, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
Morgan Silver Dollars with the O mint mark, like those in this listing, indicate production at the New Orleans Mint. Striking over 186 million of these coins from 1879 to 1904, the New Orleans Mint holds a significant place in this coins history. Only the Philadelphia Mint produced more.
