Minting continued annually until 1904, with a final production year in 1921. This dollar coin became an important part of American currency during significant historical periods, including the Reconstruction Era and the Roaring Twenties. Obverse
The obverse of the 1888 Morgan Dollar showcases a lovely left-profile relief of Lady Liberty. This design was inspired by Anna Willes Williams, and Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, adorned with a laurel wreath and a coronet crown, encircled by 13 stars.
Reverse
On the reverse side, the 1888 Morgan Silver Dollar features a heraldic eagle, designed without a national shield. The eagle is shown in a front-facing position with its wings spread wide, clutching both arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing its role in war and peace.
History
In 1888, the Philadelphia Mint was the primary producer of Morgan Dollars, striking an impressive 19.183 million coins. The New Orleans Mint produced 12.150 million coins, while the Carson City Mint remained inactive for the third consecutive year. San Francisco contributed 657,000 coins to the total mintage that year.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
