History
The CC mint mark on these coins signifies that they were minted at the now-defunct Carson City Mint. This historical branch of the US Mint was primarily dedicated to silver coin production, making Pre-33 US Gold Coins from this mint exceptionally rare. The mint operated from 1870-1885 and then briefly from 1889-1893.
