{{/presale}}The Morgan Silver Dollar was first issued by the United States Mint in 1878, marking the return of the silver dollar after a five-year hiatus. This coin went on to become one of the longest-running designs for US silver dollars. Right now, certified 1896 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available from BGASC.

Each 1896 Morgan Silver Dollar Coin offered here is graded Mint State 63. These coins are known for their attractive appearance, despite their age, with slightly impaired mint luster. You might notice numerous small contact marks, a few heavier marks, and fine hairlines visible without magnification. Each coin is presented in a plastic slab.
Obverse
The obverse design of the 1896 Morgan Dollar Coins showcases George T. Morgans depiction of Lady Liberty. This left-profile bust is inspired by classical art, featuring Liberty with a coronet crown and a Phrygian cap. The field includes 13 stars along the lower half of the design.
Reverse
The reverse design features another of Morgans creations, showing his rendition of the heraldic eagle. The bald eagle is depicted in a front-facing pose, holding the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace, with a wreath encircling most of the bird’s figure.
History
In 1896, the US Mint struck nearly 20 million Morgan Silver Dollars. The Philadelphia Mint struck more than half of the eventual total of Morgan Silver Dollars issued, producing 9.976 million coins on its own. New Orleans and San Francisco combined to produce 9.9 million coins between the two locations, with a near even split of production at the latter two branch mints.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
