These coins were designed by George T. Morgan, whose artistry and vision have made the series a favorite among collectors.
Obverse
On the obverse of 1898 Morgan Dollar Coins is a left-profile bust of Lady Liberty. Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, a coronet inscribed with Liberty, and a laurel wreath. Thirteen stars representing the original American Colonies frame her image.
Reverse
The reverse of 1898 Morgan Silver Dollars features George T. Morgans heraldic eagle design. This striking relief shows a bald eagle with its wings outstretched, clutching arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The design symbolizes the nations readiness for both peace and defense.
History
The Morgan Dollar series was issued across 28 different dates, with a notable 17-year gap between its 1904 release and its 1921 return. In 1898, the Philadelphia Mint struck 5.884 million Morgan Dollars, contributing to the years total mintage of over 15 million coins. Coins were also minted in New Orleans and San Francisco, making this a significant year in the series.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
