On the reverse, youll find the heraldic eagle, another of Morgan’s designs. The eagle is shown in a front-facing pose, clutching an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other, symbolizing peace and strength.
History
In 1898, the Morgan Dollar was minted at various U.S. Mint facilities, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, and San Francisco. The Philadelphia Mint led production with 5.884 million coins, followed by New Orleans and San Francisco.
