For over 150 years, the Morgan Silver Dollar has remained one of the most cherished coins in American history. Struck by the United States Mint between 1878 and 1904, and once more in 1921, the Morgan Silver Dollar has stood the test of time, thanks to its classic Liberty design and continued popularity with collectors. Right now, 1900 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available from BGASC.

Highlights:

  • Ships inside a protective flip!
  • 23rd coin in the Morgan Dollar Series!
  • Final mintage of 8,830,000 coins at Philadelphia!
  • Contains .7734 Troy oz of actual silver content in BU condition.
  • Bears a face value of $1 (USD) backed by the federal government.
  • The obverse features a bust of Liberty.
  • On the reverse is the heraldic eagle.

These 1900 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and packaged individually in protective plastic flips. If you purchase 20 coins, they may come in tubes. The Philadelphia Mint struck nearly 9 million coins in 1900, and only a limited number of proof coins were made that year.

Obverse

On the obverse of the 1900 Morgan Dollar, youll find George T. Morgans depiction of Lady Liberty. The left-profile bust of Liberty features a Phrygian cap, laurel wreath, and a coronet inscribed with “Liberty.”

Reverse

The reverse design on the 1900 Morgan Silver Dollar also comes from George T. Morgan. This heraldic eagle design is unique because it does not feature the typical US national shield. The eagle holds arrows in one talon, representing strength, and an olive branch in the other, symbolizing peace.

History

In total, the United States Mint produced nearly 25 million Morgan Dollars in 1900. The New Orleans Mint had the largest mintage, followed by Philadelphia with 8.83 million coins and San Francisco with 3.54 million.
