{{/presale}}Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are highly sought-after bullion coins, cherished by collectors and investors alike. Among these historic coins, the ones minted at the now-defunct New Orleans Mint hold a special place. Operating from 1879 to 1904, this mint produced over 186 million coins in the series. Unfortunately, many of these coins were either worn out or melted down for their silver content. However, the 1901 version of the Morgan Silver Dollar Coin boasts the largest mintage from this mint. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to own a piece of history – order your 1901-O Morgan Silver Dollar Coin today from BGASC.

Obverse
On the obverse of the 1901-O Silver Dollar Coin, you will find George T. Morgan’s captivating depiction of Lady Liberty. This left-profile portrait showcases Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap. At the bottom of the coin, 13 stars symbolize the original colonies, adding to its historical significance. Inscriptions read E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1901, and LIBERTY.
Reverse
George T. Morgan’s artistic prowess also shines on the reverse of the 1901-O Morgan Dollar Coin. The reverse design presents a majestic heraldic eagle, with its wings spread wide, clutching three arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Surrounding this captivating image, you will find the distinctive marks that identify this coin. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR.
History
Although the New Orleans Mint ceased operations and did not mint Morgan Silver Dollars every year, it still managed to produce over 186 million of these extraordinary coins. The 1901 version holds the record for the highest mintage, with over 13 million coins struck during that year alone. The series experienced a revival in 1921 and again in 2021, with mints in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Denver producing these timeless treasures.
