Obverse

The obverse design of the 1924 Peace Dollar Coin features a captivating portrait of Lady Liberty. Crafted by Anthony de Francisci, this design shows Liberty facing left, adorned with a radiant crown. Surrounding her are the inscriptions of the year and the national motto, In God We Trust.

Reverse

On the reverse side of 1924 Peace Silver Dollar Coins, you will see a majestic bald eagle, also designed by de Francisci. The eagle rests on an olive branch, representing peace, and gazes toward the horizon with rays of light shining behind it.

History

The 1924 release was among the final years of high-volume production for the Peace Dollar series. In total, over 13 million coins were minted during the first four years, with the 1924 production alone accounting for 11.8 million coins from the Philadelphia Mint, complemented by 1.7 million from the San Francisco Mint.
