Known for its changing designs of the Giant Panda, the Chinese Panda program has become a classic that other mints have since adopted. Highlights:
Each 1986 1/2 oz Chinese Gold Panda Coin is secured in a sealed plastic pouch. This release is notable as it was the fifth in the Gold Panda series, created during a period when the coins were still issued in Troy ounces. Today, the 1/2 oz version has transitioned to a 15 Gram Gold Panda.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 1986 Chinese Gold Panda Coins displays an image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This iconic building is part of the Temple of Heaven Complex in Beijing, a significant site for Taoist practices.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 1986 1/2 oz Gold Panda Coin, you will see a solitary Giant Panda walking among bamboo. This years design employs various finishes to create contrast and detail, distinguishing the pandas white and black fur beautifully.
History
Giant Pandas, or “Panda Bears,” are a unique species indigenous to the bamboo forests of central China. These adorable animals are part of the bear family but are primarily herbivorous, feeding mostly on different species of bamboo.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
