This coin represents the third design from the Lunar Series I program, with a final mintage of only 16,907 coins out of a maximum mintage of 30,000 coins, making it the highest mintage at that point in the series.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 1998 Australian Gold Lunar Tiger Coins, you will find a right-profile bust of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This design, created by Raphael Maklouf in 1985, was featured for the final time in the series in 1998 and captures a timeless image of the Queen adorned with the George IV State Diadem.
