While this coin marks the 6th release in the Silver Lunar Series, it embodies the 9th year in the zodiac. The Lunar Series commenced in 1996, with gold coins, and expanded to include silver coins in 1999. Subsequent series, Lunar Series II and III, were introduced in 2008 and 2020, respectively.
