Obverse
The obverse of these 2006-W Proof American Silver Eagle Coin continued to feature the timeless image of Walking Liberty. This image was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman for the US half dollar.
Reverse
John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle retained its central position on the reverse design of the 2006-W 1 oz Proof Silver Eagle. The image shows the American bald eagle with the US national shield, the arrows of war, and the olive branch of peace.
History
The year 2006 held special significance for the American Silver Eagle program. It marked the 20th anniversary, prompting the United States Mint to escalate production. The standard bullion coins experienced an increase of nearly 2 million, with an additional 200,000 Proof American Silver Eagle coins struck. These mintage figures stood as the second-largest in the program’s history to date. The surge in production for the proof version in 2006 remains the most substantial one-year increase in the program’s 30-year history. The West Point Mint played a vital role, striking three versions of the American Silver Eagle regularly to meet the increasing demand. Notably, the reverse proof available in 2006 was struck at the Philadelphia Mint.

All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
