Crafted at the esteemed West Point Mint, the obverse of the 2007-W Proof American Gold Buffalo coin features the profile of an indigenous Tribal Leader. This design, originating from James Earle Fraser’s iconic Indian Head nickel, pays homage to Native American heritage, a composite representation of Chief Big Tree of the Kiowa, Chief Iron Tail of the Oglala Lakota, and Chief Two Moons of the Cheyenne. Inscriptions included are LIBERTY and 2007.
Reverse
On the reverse side, witness the commanding profile of an American Buffalo, standing regally atop an earth mound. This timeless James Earle Fraser design is believed to honor Black Diamond, the magnificent buffalo that graced New York’s Central Park Zoo in the early 1900s. Inscriptions included are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1 OZ. .9999 FINE GOLD, and $50.
History
Authorized by the Presidential Coin Act of 2005, the American Gold Buffalo Coin series mandates a 1-ounce, .9999 pure gold coin with a face value of $50. Notably, the gold used in these coins must come from natural US deposits. Fraser’s immortal designs from the Indian Head nickel adorn the obverse and reverse, available in both bullion and proof renditions.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
