{{/presale}}Canada has long been recognized for its rich gold reserves and refined production methods. The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) has played a crucial role in this history, gaining international recognition as a top-tier refiner of gold bullion. Initially producing gold bars for the United Kingdom, the RCM is now celebrated for its Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins. On special occasions, the mint creates limited-edition coins like the .99999 pure Gold Maple Leafs, some of the purest gold coins available. Right now, 2009 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins are available from BGASC.
Highlights:
The 2009 1 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin available here is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and comes sealed in a Royal Canadian Mint assay card. The coin is protected within a capsule, ensuring its preservation. The assay card includes the coins authenticity details in both English and French.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 2009 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf features the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt in 2003. This was the fourth and final portrait of Her Majesty to appear on Canadian coins.
Reverse
On the reverse of 2009 1 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coins, youll find the sugar maple leaf, a symbol of Canadian pride and heritage. This design was introduced by Walter Ott in 1979 and has been used on all Gold Maple Leaf coins, as well as on other precious metal Maple Leaf series.
History
Throughout the 20th century, Canadas gold industry flourished, with major discoveries in Ontario, Quebec, and the Northwest Territories. These discoveries led to large-scale mining operations and technological advancements in refining. Techniques like the cyanide process and electrolytic refining significantly boosted gold recovery rates and purity levels, solidifying Canadas place among the worlds leading gold producers.
