{{/presale}}This Brilliant Uncirculated Shawnee National Forest Five Ounce Silver Bullion Coin is the first of 2016 and the 31st overall in the America the Beautiful Coins Program. The reverse design of this silver bullion coin depicts a close view of Camel Rock with natural vegetation in the foreground and a red-tailed hawk soaring in the sky overhead. Inscriptions are “SHAWNEE,” “ILLINOIS,” “2016,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” The reverse was designed by United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) artist Justin Kunz and engraved by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Jim Licaretz.
Totaling about 286,400 acres, the Shawnee National Forest is located in the southern tip of Illinois and offers a variety of outdoor opportunities and diverse landscapes. In contrast to the rest of Illinois, the Shawnee National Forest’s rolling landscape and rugged bluffs are home to a diverse array of plant and animal life. Covered in deciduous forests and cradled between both the Ohio River and Mississippi River, there’s never a shortage of things to do in the Shawnee National Forest.

The 5 oz silver America The Beautiful Coins (ATB’s) all resemble a Washington quarter but are significantly larger (76.20 millimeter diameter) and contain 99.9% silver at a weight of 155.5 grams. Each coin depicts a United States National Park on the reverse and John Flanagan’s 1932 portrait of George Washington on the obverse. Inscriptions on the obverse are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and QUARTER DOLLAR. The edges of these 5 oz silver bullion coins are smooth and contain the incused inscription: .999 FINE SILVER 5.0 OUNCE. The coin will be sent to you in a protective Air-Tite Capsule.
Quantities of 10 will ship in unopened mint tubes and Air-Tite Capsules will be included with your order.
When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
