{{/presale}}The South African Krugerrand coin design is one of the most well-known and respected in the world. The Gold Krugerrand was previously the most popular gold coin in the world before apartheid changed that. Its silver counterpart is also very desirable and was first released just a few years ago in 2017. Get yours here today from BGASC!
Coin Highlights:
These amazing silver coins are in BU condition from the mint. We want to make sure they arrive to you in a similar condition. Each individual coin is wrapped in a plastic flip, therefore, to protect against damages from shipping. Lots of 25 coins are shipped in plastic tubes of 25 coins while lots of 500 coins are delivered in mint-sealed monster boxes.
Obverse
The obverse of these famous silver coins features the left-sided profile of Paul Kruger. Suid-Afrika and “South Africa” are stamped outside of Krugers head on the upper left and right-hand sides of the coin. A ring of grooves also goes around the coins outer edge, providing more detail and beauty to it.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Silver Krugerrand features the Springbok antelope. On both sides of the antelope is an engraving of the minting year of the coin. Below the antelope are the coins weight and metal content as well as its face value. The top outer edge of the reverse features the word Krugerrand above the antelope.
History
The history of the Krugerrand starts back in its first issue year of Gold Krugerrands in 1967. The Krugerrand was the most desired gold coin in the world for many years. Eventually, however, the countrys apartheid policies led to some nations not wanting the coins imported. The Krugerrand eventually lost its place as the number one gold coin. The silver version of the Krugerrand was not introduced until it was first minted in 2017.
