{{/presale}}Introducing the tiniest fraction of an ounce featured in the revered Mexican Gold Libertad Series. First introduced in 1991, a decade after the series’ inception in 1981, the 1/20 oz edition holds a special place. With an uninterrupted tradition since 2002, the series introduces five gold weights ranging from 1/20 oz to 1 oz each year. Now available at BGASC, we proudly offer you the chance to own the 2023 1/20 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coin.
Highlights:
Each order of the 2023 1/20 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coin arrives meticulously encased in an individual protective flip, ensuring the coin’s brand-new condition. All coins within this series are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. This 1/20 oz masterpiece stands as the smallest weight within the Mexican Gold Libertad Series.
Obverse
The obverse field of each 2023 Mexican Gold Libertad Coin features Mexico’s emblematic coat of arms. This iconic portrayal depicts a Mexican golden eagle clutching a rattlesnake while perched atop a prickly pear cactus. The lower portion of the design elegantly presents laurel leaves elegantly tied together with a ribbon. Inscriptions read ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2023 1/20 oz Mexican Libertad Coin, the captivating Winged Victory takes center stage. This representation captures the statue in a three-quarter profile view. Prior to 2000, this image was presented in a full front-facing perspective. The backdrop of the design depicts the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl mountains. Inscriptions include 1/20 ONZA, ORO PURO, OM, and 2023 LEY .999.
History
Crafted with precision at the renowned Mexican Mint, the oldest mint in the Americas, Mexican Gold Libertads embody amazing diversity. Released annually since 2002, they are available in both gold and silver renditions. In 2005, proof versions in both metals were introduced, while reverse proof strikes and antique variations further enrich the collection. Despite lacking face value, these cherished gold coins are fully backed by Banco de Mexico.
