Obverse
Obverse visual elements on the 2023 American Gold Eagle Coin include the front-facing portrait of Lady Liberty. This 1907 design from Augustus Saint-Gaudens captures her full-length figure walking toward the viewer with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other.
Reverse
Reverse designs on these 2023 1/4 oz Gold Eagle Coins include an American bald eagle. This modern design for the series was created in 2020 by Jennie Norris and first issued on the coins in mid-2021. The image shows the head of the eagle in left-profile relief.
History
American Gold Eagle Coins featured the same obverse and reverse designs from 1986 when the series started until mid-2021 during the 35th anniversary of the series. Miley Busieks original reverse design was replaced halfway through the year with this new design from Jennie Norris.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
