Obverse
In the obverse design of the 2023 Somalia Silver Elephant Coin, you will find the image of the national coat of arms. The Somali coat of arms features a crowned shield that is supported by leopards on either side. The shield features a background of horizontal lines and a single star in the center. Spears and leaves cross beneath the design.
Reverse
For the reverse field of 2023 1 Kilo Silver Elephants, the Bavarian State Mint offers a new depiction of the African bush elephant. This exclusive 2023 design shows the head of the elephant in right-profile relief with its large trunk grabbing an overhanging branch. The elephant uses its trunk to strip leaves from the branch to eat.
History
The Bavarian State Mint introduced the African Wildlife Series Elephant bullion coins in 1999. From that year to 2003, the coins were issued in 1 oz silver and 1 oz gold as the Zambia Elephant. The transition to the Somalia Elephant took place in 2004 and has remained the condition since then.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies.
