{{/presale}}The British Gold Britannia Series, introduced by The Royal Mint in 1987, has long featured Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. After her death in September 2022, The Royal Mint transitioned to featuring King Charles III on the obverse. In 2023, this change was implemented, but not before the final batches of Britannias were struck with Queen Elizabeth IIs effigy. Right now, 2023 1 oz British Gold Britannia Coins are available in near-perfect condition at BGASC.
Highlights:
Each 2023 1 oz British Gold Britannia Coin available here is graded Mint State 69. These coins have their original mint luster intact and only up to two minor imperfections. These small marks are minimal and located outside the main focal points.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2023 British Gold Britannia displays a right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. This final depiction shows her at age 89, wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. Designed by Jody Clark in 2015, this portrait first appeared on Royal Mint coins in 2016.
Reverse
On the reverse of the 2023 1 oz Gold Britannia Coins, Britannia is depicted. Britannia is the female personification of Britain, a name originating from the Ancient Roman term for the British Isles. She symbolizes Britains naval strength and defense capabilities.
History
Importantly, the NGC has verified that these coins are among the last 500 in the 2023 Gold Britannia Series to feature Queen Elizabeth IIs effigy on the obverse. Queen Elizabeth II reigned from February 6, 1952, to September 8, 2022, making her the longest-reigning British monarch in history.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
