Obverse
In the obverse design of 2023 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coins, the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II appears for the final time. This design was created by Susanna Blunt in 2003 and is the only portrait of Elizabeth IIs reign to lack a crown or tiara.
Reverse
For the reverse field of 2023 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf Coins, you will find an image of the sugar maple leaf. This design was created in 1979 by Walter Ott and has been in use on all versions of the Canadian Maple Leaf bullion coins.
History
Canadian Maple Leaf bullion coins will start the 2023 cycle with the Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Once a new portrait of King Charles III is ready for production, the use of Her Majestys effigy will end. This makes these early issues in the series the last with Her Majestys portrait.
