Each 2023 1 oz Niue Scottish Unicorn Coin will be delivered in a protective plastic capsule. These coins were struck at The European Mint and are recognized as legal tender by Niue Island. As BU coins, they will be in excellent shape with only minor signs of wear on the surfaces.
Obverse
The Public Seal of Niue is depicted on the obverse of 2023 1 oz Silver Scottish Unicorn Coins. This national seal includes a decorative ring of garland surrounding an inner circle that contains various plants of the island. There is also a crown atop the seal.
Reverse
The Scottish unicorn is found on the reverse of 2023 1 oz Niue Silver Coins. This design replicates the unicorn design found on Scottish heraldry, which depicts the creature facing left in an upright position.
History
The unicorn is a mythological creature that resembles a horse with a spiral horn protruding from its forehead. Though its precise origins are unknown, many trace its existence back to an old 4th-centuryBC text about India titled Indika by Greek author Ctesias. While entirely mythical, a creature bearing some resemblance to the unicorn did in fact exist. Known as Elasmotherium Sibericum, this distant relative of the rhinoceros went extinct about 40,000 years ago.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
