Obverse
The Rwandan coat of arms can be found on the obverse of 2023 Proof Nile Crocodile 1 oz Silver Coins. Here, you will see a cog wheel supporting a traditional woven basket. On either side of the basket, youll see a coffee tree and a stem of sorghum.
Reverse
Two Nile Crocodiles are featured on the reverse side of 2023 Proof Rwandan 1 oz Silver Coins. The child crocodile swims through the river while its parent stands guard on the shore with an open jaw. In keeping with the other coins in this collection, a rendition of the African continent is shown beside this design.
History
One of the most distinctive features of the Nile Crocodile is its impressive bite. Considered the strongest bite in the animal kingdom, its force can exceed that of a great white shark by eight times! Also, while we dont usually associate crocodiles with noise, theyre actually among the more vocal reptiles on the planet. It is estimated that the crocodile is capable of producing at least twenty distinct sounds.
