After the BU and Proof coins, the Mexican Mint introduced the Reverse Proof Silver Libertads in three of the eight different weights available. All 2023 2 oz Reverse Proof Mexican Silver Libertad Coins are delivered with protective plastic capsules. Since 2017, the 1 oz, 2 oz, and 5 oz Reverse Proof Silver Libertads have been issued annually, known for their striking mirrored designs and lettering set against a frosted background.
Obverse
The obverse side of these 2023 Reverse Proof Mexican Silver Libertads showcases the Mexican coat of arms. For the 1 oz and larger coins in this series, you’ll find the modern seal at the center, encircled by ten historical versions of the coat of arms along the border.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2023 2 oz Reverse Proof Silver Libertad Coins, you’ll encounter the iconic image of Winged Victory. This design is inspired by the actual statue of Winged Liberty, which stands at the center of Mexico City atop the Mexican Independence Victory Column. This monument was erected in 1921 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mexico’s independence from Spain.
History
The Mexican Mint introduced the Proof Mexican Silver Libertads back in 1983, initially minting only 1 oz silver coins. Annual production didn’t commence until 1986. Over the years, new weight options were added, starting in 1992 with four fractional-ounce coins, followed by 2 oz and 5 oz coins in 1996, and a 1 Kilo coin in 2008. In 2017, the Mexican Mint added the 1 oz, 2 oz, and 5 oz reverse-proof coins to the series.

Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
BGASC is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
