Obverse
On the obverse side of 2023 Lunar Rabbit 5 oz Silver Coins, you will find an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is Englands longest-reigning monarch, serving her people from 1952 until her death on September 8, 2022. This design is the definitive sixth-generation design to feature on Australian coins and was introduced in 2015 at the Royal Mint after being designed by Jody Clark. Inscriptions on this field include ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 5 OZ 9999 AG, and 8 DOLLARS.
Reverse
The reverse field of the 2023 Australian Lunar Rabbit Silver Coin comes with a vision of two rabbits. This design from Ing Ing Jong was created to show two rabbits, one seated and alert as the other curiously investigates a tree branch above. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include only the P mint mark of Perth Mint, the rabbit symbol, 2023, and RABBIT.
History
Ing Ing Jong created her latest work of art for Lunar Series coins at Perth Mint in 2023. This year, her artwork is the only one that will appear in the series. She created both the gold and silver designs, with the gold design also appearing on platinum coins.
