Obverse
In the obverse design of the 2023 Somalia Silver Elephant, you will find the Somali coat of arms. The design shows a crowned shield that has horizontal lines across its background field with a single star in the center. The shield is supported by leopards on either side.
Reverse
For the reverse visual of the 2023 5 oz Silver Elephant Coin, the mint offers a new design for 2023. This design shows an elephant in the foreground using its trunk to strip leaves from a tree for its meal.
History
Somalia Elephant coins have been available since 2004 in silver and gold. Prior to this, the series was known as the Zambia Elephant from 1999 to 2003. The Bavarian State Mint has remained the issuer throughout and has always used a new reverse design.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
