History
The story began in 1878 when the first Morgan Silver Dollar was crafted, marking a pivotal moment for silver currency. These coins remained a staple until 1904, took a breather for 17 years, and then made a dazzling comeback in 1921. Fast forward to 2021, when they reappeared to celebrate a century of existence. Throughout their original circulation, five branch mints played a role in crafting these prized coins over 28 years. Philadelphia and San Francisco minted them annually, except for New Orleans during the 1878 and 1921 periods. Carson City played its part from 1878 to 1885 and again from 1889 to 1893, while Denver joined in only once in 1921.
