{{/presale}}First introduced in 1981, the Mexican Gold Libertad coin series didnt become a yearly offering from the Mexican Mint until 2002. Initially, the series included 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz coins, with 1/10 oz and 1/20 oz coins added in 1991. The 1/20 oz coin is the smallest in this collection. Today, the 2024 1/20 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coins are available at BGASC.

Each 2024 1/20 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coin available here is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and comes packaged in a plastic flip for safe delivery. The 1/20 oz Gold Libertad has seen varying levels of demand since 1991, with the highest mintage at 65,225 coins in 1992 and the lowest at 650 coins in 2013. Fractional-ounce coins were not issued in 2012.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Mexican Gold Libertads features the national coat of arms of Mexico. This modern seal is inspired by the Codex Mendoza from 1524, depicting an eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus, eating a snakean important symbol in Aztec culture.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2024 1/20 oz Gold Libertad Coin shows the statue of Winged Victory. This symbolic figure of Mexican Independence is seen standing atop the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City, with the volcanic peaks of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl in the background.
History
Gold Libertad coins were launched in 1981, featuring the same design used on the 50 Peso Gold Centenario coin, originally issued in 1921 to celebrate Mexico’s 100th year of independence from Spain. The designs were updated in 2000 to include modern versions of the national seal and the Winged Victory.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
BGASC is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
