{{/presale}}Joining the prestigious lineup of programs within the Commonwealth of Nations, the Gold Maple Leaf Series by the Royal Canadian Mint has held an esteemed position in the world of precious metals. Throughout its history, the obverse of these coins has proudly showcased Queen Elizabeth II. However, a new era begins in 2024 as the effigy of Her Late Majesty gracefully transitions to King Charles III on Canadian currency. Embrace the significance of this transition with the 2024 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin, now available at BGASC.
Highlights:
Each 2024 1/4 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin offered in this listing comes individually sealed in protective plastic. For those seeking larger quantities, we provide sealed sheets of 20 gold coins. Rest assured, all coins are delivered in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving their pristine quality.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin captures the essence of His Majesty King Charles III. Displayed in left-profile relief, this remarkable bust pays homage to the legacy of the crown, differing from the right-profile relief used during Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. It is customary for monarch portraits to change orientation when a new king ascends to the throne.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2024 1/4 oz Gold Maple Leaf Coins, you’ll find Walter Ott’s magnificent portrayal of the sugar maple leaf. This cherished emblem graces countless governmental seals and the national flag of Canada. Ott’s design masterfully showcases the natural intricacies of this iconic symbol, basking it in the glow of natural light.
History
Since 1990, the Royal Canadian Mint has been known for crafting remarkable portraits of the reigning monarch for Canadian currency, including their esteemed bullion collections. The 2023 Maple Leaf Series marked the final appearance of Her Late Majesty’s effigy, making way for King Charles III’s new bust. This transition period allowed Canadian artists to create a fitting tribute to the new king.
