{{/presale}}The New Zealand Mint has a variety of Marvel-themed coin releases, ranging from designs that honor comic book covers to those that capture scenes from within the comics. Among these collections is a series featuring the villains that Spider-Man faces in his adventures. Right now, 2024 1 oz Antique Colorized Niue Silver Spider-Man Villains Sandman Coins are available at BGASC.
Highlights:
Each 2024 1 oz Antique Colorized Niue Silver Spider-Man Villains Sandman Coin is presented in Marvel-themed packaging. The coin comes in a special box with Sandman featured on the lid. The box includes a viewing window and a Certificate of Authenticity. This colorized, rectangular coin showcases vivid visuals on the reverse of Spider-Man and Sandman locked in battle.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Antique Colorized Niue Silver Spider-Man Villains Sandman Coin displays a bust of King Charles III. Since his ascension to the throne in May 2023, his likeness has appeared on more coins throughout the Commonwealth. This left-profile portrait does not show a crown on the kings head.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2024 1 oz Antique Colorized Silver Spider-Man Villains Sandman Coin, Spider-Man and Sandman are depicted in a fierce clash. Spider-Man often uses his scientific knowledge to find innovative ways to defeat Sandman, such as using water to solidify his form or vacuum cleaners to capture his particles.
History
Spider-Man first met Sandman in the early 1960s comic books. Sandman, also known as Flint Marko, is a criminal who can transform his body into sand. In various comic storylines, Spider-Man has sometimes shown empathy towards Sandman, recognizing the human beneath the sandy exterior and attempting to help him rather than simply defeat him.
