These coins are minted by the Royal Australian Mint, which is the sovereign mint for Australia. This release marks the first appearance of King Charles III on the obverse side of this popular coin series.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Australian Silver Giraffe Australia Zoo Coin features a detailed image of His Majesty King Charles III. This left-profile portrait was created by Dan Thorne and depicts the king without a crown, in a design that is new to this coin series.
Reverse
On the reverse side, the 2024 1 oz Silver Giraffe Australia Zoo Coin presents a heartwarming scene with two giraffes. The background showcases a tall mountain, while in the foreground, a mother giraffe tenderly leans down to touch noses with her young calf.
History
Giraffes are social animals, often found in loose herds of 10 to 20 individuals. These herds are typically composed of females and their young, with adult males either living solitary lives or forming bachelor groups. Giraffes communicate through various vocalizations, including grunts, snorts, and hums, as well as through body language and chemical signals.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed.
