For bulk purchases, choose between individually encapsulated rolls of 20 coins or mint-sealed boxes containing five rolls totaling 100 coins. The reverse of each coin boasts a micro-laser engraved letter visible only under magnification, enhancing its security features.
Obverse
Witness the left-profile bust of King Charles III on the obverse, a unique departure from the tradition of his predecessor, Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Notably, the design excludes the crown, in line with the 20th-century custom for male monarchs.
Reverse
Flip the coin to the reverse side to behold a fresh depiction of the iconic kookaburra in flight, clutching a small snake in its talons. The laughing kookaburra, a native Australian bird renowned for its distinct laughter-like call, serves as a symbol of the country’s diverse wildlife.
History
This year marks a historic shift in the Australian Kookaburra Series, dating back to 1990, as it introduces the new monarch, His Majesty King Charles III. Since the program started in 1990, four portraits of Her Late Majesty have featured on the coins, but there has never been a bust of a monarch other than Elizabeth II on Kookaburra coins.
