History
The Austrian Mint is famous for crafting the Vienna Philharmonic bullion coin, which proudly displays the image of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and is renowned for being widely recognized and traded around the world. The coin pays tribute to Austria’s cultural heritage and artistic excellence. In 1989, the series started with the introduction of 1 oz and 1/4 oz gold coins. The series expanded in 1991 with a 1/10 oz gold coin, and in 1994, a 1/2 oz gold coin was added. The series continued to grow, introducing the 1 oz silver coin in 2008, the 1/25 oz gold coin in 2014, and platinum coins from 2016.
