Each 2024 1 oz Niue Silver COMIX Sensation Comics #1 Coin is individually packaged. The coins are housed in a presentation box featuring DC Comics and Wonder Woman-themed artwork, with a display window to showcase the reverse of the coin.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Niue Silver COMIX Sensation Comics #1 Coin displays the Public Seal of Niue. Adopted in September 2021, the seal includes a traditional Niuean garland of 14 seashells. Within the garland, an inner circle of hiapo designs represents the land, and at the center, a stylized tree symbolizes the Niuean people.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2024 1 oz Silver COMIX Sensation Comics #1 Coin highlights the famous cover art from Sensation Comics #1, illustrated by Harry G. Peter. The artwork depicts Wonder Woman deflecting bullets with her bracelets as she rushes towards the viewer, a memorable scene that has thrilled fans for generations.
History
Sensation Comics #1, published in January 1942 by All-American Publications, now known as DC Comics, introduced Wonder Woman in a full comic book issue. The issue contains Wonder Woman’s origin story, explaining how Princess Diana of the Amazons leaves her home on Paradise Island to accompany Steve Trevor back to “Man’s World” and fight for justice and peace.
