Both BU and Proof Gold Libertads were first introduced in the early 1980s but faced several production interruptions. Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Proof Mexican Gold Libertad showcases the national coat of arms of Mexico. The design includes the modern national seal at the center, encircled by 10 historic coats of arms representing different periods, including an Aztec symbol from 1524.
Reverse
On the reverse side of the 2024 1 oz Proof Gold Libertad Coins, you will find Winged Victory, a figure rooted in the Mexican Revolution. Winged Victory is depicted standing on the Mexican Independence Victory Column, holding a laurel wreath in her right hand and broken chains in her left.
History
The first Gold Libertads were released in 1981 with three BU gold coins. Proof Gold Libertads began in 1983, with just 88 coins minted in the 1 oz size. Proof Gold Libertads saw a pause until 1989, when only a 1/2 oz coin was issued, with a mintage limited to 704 pieces. Regular production resumed in 2004, with the Mexican Mint offering 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz Proof Gold Libertads, all in very limited quantities.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
