Since its introduction in 2007, it has been part of a collection showcasing native Australian species, following the 1990 debut of the Australian Kookaburra. The 2024 5 oz Proof Australian Silver Koala Coin is now available from BGASC.

Each 2024 5 oz Proof Australian Silver Koala Coin comes in a classic Perth Mint display case with a clear acrylic lid. It also includes a koala-themed shipper and a Certificate of Authenticity bearing a unique serial number. The coins design includes pink gold gilding around the rim and on the koalas figure.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2024 Proof Australian Silver Koala Coin features a left-profile portrait of King Charles III, the first such image on Australian coins. Designed by Dan Thorne, the effigy depicts His Majesty without a crown.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2024 5 oz Proof Silver Koala Coin shows a koala perched on a tree trunk with eucalyptus leaves surrounding it. Koalas primary diet of eucalyptus leaves is toxic to most animals, but their digestive systems have adapted to handle these leaves and break down their tough, fibrous nature.
History
Koalas are unique marsupials that live mostly sedentary lives, often sleeping or resting for up to 20 hours a day in the eucalyptus trees. This energy-conserving behavior is necessary due to their low-energy diet of eucalyptus leaves, which are tough and contain very few nutrients. Despite their slow movements, koalas are agile climbers, using their powerful limbs and claws to move through the tree canopy. Koalas tend to be solitary, each adult creating and protecting its own territory.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
BGASC is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
