The gold coins, in particular, offer a wide range of sizes, making them attractive to both collectors and investors. Over the years, this series has become one of the most esteemed in Europe. These 2025 1/2 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins are offered either individually in plastic flips or in multiples of 10 within acrylic tubes. Each coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Although the series began in 1989, the 1/2 oz gold coin was not issued until 1994.
Obverse
On the obverse side of the 2025 1/2 oz Gold Philharmonic Coin, the Austrian Mint showcases the Great Pipe Organ. This stunning instrument is located in the Golden Concert Hall, which serves as the main performance venue for the Musikverein. The current organ, installed in 2011, is the third of its kind in the hall, replacing an older organ that had been used since 1907.
Reverse
The reverse design of the 2025 Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin features an arrangement of musical instruments. At the center is a cello, accompanied by four violins in the foreground. In the background, a French horn, bassoon, and harp complete the design, representing the richness of orchestral music.
History
These coins pay homage to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, a national treasure of Austria. The orchestra has a long history, evolving while upholding tradition. Notably, it maintained a controversial policy that excluded women from permanent membership until 1997.

Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
