Obverse
In the obverse design, the 90% Silver Roosevelt Dime features a left-profile portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The only American president to serve more than two terms, President Roosevelt guided the nation over the course of four terms in office, though he died in 1945 early in his fourth term.
Reverse
For the reverse design, the 90% Silver Roosevelt Dime features a torch, an oak branch, and an olive branch. This design element sets a torch at the center with the olive branch and the oak branch flanking it on either side.
History
Roosevelt Dimes were issued in 1946 just months after President Roosevelts death in office in 1945. It replaced the Mercury Dime design from 1916 and is the current design in use on the coins, surpassing more than 70 years in circulation.
